RESEARCH PAPER

PAPER:  

bulletYour research paper topic should be approved by the instructor before you begin research.  
 
bulletThe research paper will be graded on quality, originality, and thoughtfulness.  It should be prepared individually and in a professional manner.  
 
bulletTwo copies of the research paper will be turned in, one will be a hard copy which will be graded and returned, the other will be sent to the instructor via e-mail.
 
bulletCheck course syllabus for number of pages required.  Paper will be typed, double-spaced, and free of errors.  Points will be deducted for punctuation and spelling errors.
 
bulletFor a paper of this length, a minimum of eight--no more than four internet--sources are required.  Footnotes at the bottom of the page are preferred. Footnotes should be consistent and conform to the format provided on my webpage.   

 ORGANIZATION:

bulletThe paper should be organized with subtitles separating the different segments:

·        Title Page (should conform to standard academic format.)

·        Executive Summary (a summary of the key findings/points of the paper.)

·        Background (several paragraphs detailing biographic or historical information, etc.)

·        Body of Paper Divided into Appropriate Sections With Subtitles (several paragraphs explaining and giving examples of key points.)

·        Bibliography (bibliography should include all the resources used for the paper, be consistent, and conform to the format provided on my webpage and in your syllabus.)
