Plan and Prepare

bulletKnow when the presentation is to be given and for how long.
bullet Narrow the scope of your presentation.
bullet Organize the material under few main topics or points--no more than 3 topics/points for a 5 minute presentation.
bullet Arrange the sequence of topics/points in a logical and appropriate order.
bullet Plan the introduction and conclusions carefully.
bulletRehearse, rehearse,  rehearse using visuals, and also track for timing.
bulletHave all your visuals ready prior to the presentation.
bulletEnsure all audio-visual devices are in working order before beginning presentation.
bulletApproach the presentation with a positive attitude--if you are not interested in the topic, the audience won't be either.
